Giusto Manetti - Gilding Gesso
This product for sizing, the basis of water gilding, is ready to use and ideal for beginners and hobbyists. It requires no preparation and is applied directly to the surface before the application of the bole.
Part Number: GYP0125Directions: Mix the product extremely well before use. Apply with a brush. Two to four coats are necessary before the surface is well prepared and ready for the next step of burnishing. Once applied and thoroughly dry, the product can be sanded and smoothed. It is recommended to use progressively finer abrasive papers to achieve a perfectly smooth surface. The area to be gilded must be completely smooth so that imperfections of the base do not show on the leaf, and the leaf does not tear.
