Kama Pigments Bleached Beeswax 1lb
Price: $31.49
Beeswax is a soft natural wax with a melting point around 60-65°C (144-147°F). It is used in many mediums and varnishes for artists, artisans, or woodworkers. It is also used as the binder for encaustic paints (mixed with carnauba wax and/or natural resins to get a more solid paint film and prevent blooming). It can be coloured by adding dry pigments and dissolved with odourless mineral spirits, citrus solvents, or turpentine. Beeswax is naturally white; the pollen from flowers, dust, and other impurities is what gives it its yellow colour. This wax has been naturally bleached by filtering out these impurities.
