An easy, convenient method for distinguishing between safe and unsafe alkaline paper and board.Easy to use, simply draw a line. The chlorophenol red indicator solution will turn a purple colour on any paper with a safe pH of 6-8 or higher. Any other colour would indicate a material most unsuitable for conservation purposes.
